Burr Ridge Village Center Traded Its Breakfast Spot for a Tavern and Its Dinner Spot for Pancakes

  • October 8, 2026

Within about eighteen months, Burr Ridge Village Center swapped its breakfast and dinner spots. The breakfast room on Village Center Drive is now a tavern, and the address that served dinner for sixteen years now closes at 3 p.m. The two moves cancel out on paper, since the center still has one morning restaurant and one evening restaurant. In practice, each meal now has a new address and different hours.

So the usual routine needs a small update. A Saturday brunch, a weeknight dinner, or a trick-or-treat afternoon with kids still happens on the same block. It just happens at different doors now.

595 Village Center Drive, where breakfast used to be

Yolk closed at 595 Village Center Drive in early January 2025 after about two and a half years. The space was empty for more than a year. Then The Bridewell Tavern opened there on a Thursday evening in March 2026 with a soft opening, and by the next day owner John Mauro told Patch, "Today, we're fully open for lunch and dinner." He owns the restaurant with Peter Burdi.

Some early coverage listed the restaurant at 525 Village Center Drive. The Bridewell's own website gives 595, the same address Patch reported for Yolk.

The menu is elevated traditional bar fare. It includes wings, Tuscan pizzas, tavern starters, salads, burgers, sandwiches, pasta, steak, seafood, and a cocktail list. The schedule shows the flip most clearly. A room that used to do its business in the morning now opens at 11 a.m. Tuesday through Sunday and at 4 p.m. on Mondays.

590 Village Center Drive, where dinner used to be

Two doors down, the change went the other way. Wok n Fire served its last day at 590 Village Center Drive on April 26, 2026, after sixteen years in the center. In early June, Patch reported from village documents that Aria's Kitchen was moving into the space, with owner Bryan Sord expecting a June opening.

Aria's calls itself "Elevated Breakfast, Lunch." The menu leans on skillets, Benedicts, pancakes, sandwiches, burgers, and salads. A few dishes stand out:

  • Croque Madame on brioche, with ham, gruyere, a sunny-side-up egg, and mornay sauce
  • Famous Corned Beef Hash
  • Maple Apple Ham French Toast, stuffed with maple apple compote, gruyere, and smoked ham
  • A seasonal pumpkin dish made with real pumpkin and topped with walnut praline, caramel sauce, and cinnamon butter

The current schedule is less certain. The village records cited in the June Patch story described breakfast through dinner every day and noted that Aria's had applied for a liquor license. The Village Center's current directory listing marks the restaurant open and gives its hours as 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. The listing also mentions a dinner menu. No public record we found confirms that evening service has started or that the liquor license was issued. For now, plan on Aria's as a daytime restaurant and call ahead if you're hoping for dinner.

The hours between lunch and dinner

The two restaurant swaps shifted where you eat. The other additions this year fill in the middle of the day.

Kilwins at 745 Village Center Drive took a while to get its official celebration. A February report from What Now Chicago projected an opening around April 28. The formal grand opening party came on Saturday, September 12, from noon to 3 p.m. It had free samples, face painting, milkshake discounts, free tote bags for the first 200 customers, and an appearance by the Kilwins moose. A chocolate and ice cream shop adds a natural after-lunch or post-movie stop to a block whose two restaurants now split the day between them.

JRB Style is the newest name on the directory. It's a bridal shop at 580 Village Center Drive that sells wedding gowns, with custom sizing and made-to-order options. Its grand opening is Saturday, October 3, 2026. On the other side of the ledger, The Design Bar interior-design showroom announced in October 2025 that it would leave 880 Village Center Drive, with Halloween as its planned last day, and move to a nearby location.

The Entertainment District connects these storefronts. It's a $2 million open-air space unveiled in September 2024, built as a pedestrian-friendly gathering area with seating, lighting, and artwork set among the shops, restaurants, and offices. This September it hosted Miss Jamie's Farm every Friday at 10 a.m., with music, puppets, and farmyard fun for ages 1 to 6. Free Yoga on the Green ran on Saturdays from June through September. Those summer series are finished. October's programming moves into the afternoon and evening.

October, hour by hour

Taken in date order, the October calendar lines up with the new dining hours. Morning events fall within Aria's 8-to-3 window, the afternoon trick-or-treat lands after lunch, and the movie night falls during the Bridewell's dinner service.

  1. Saturday, Oct. 3. JRB Style grand opening at 580 Village Center Drive.
  2. Saturday, Oct. 17, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Pleasant Dale Park District's free Fall Craft & Vendor Show at Walker Recreation Center.
  3. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 4:30–5:30 p.m. The Pleasant Dale Home Run Series, an indoor wiffle-ball program at Walker Recreation Center, $15 for residents and $19 for nonresidents.
  4. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 6–9 p.m. A free outdoor Hocus Pocus movie night in the Entertainment District, with popcorn and treats.
  5. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2–4 p.m. Boo! Ridge Trick-or-Treat at the Village Center, with treats and games.
  6. Monday, Oct. 26, by 7 a.m. The Village's annual brush pickup begins, and brush must be on the parkway by 7 a.m. that morning.
  7. Saturday, Oct. 31, 10–11:30 a.m. The Park District's Halloween Boo Bash at Walker Recreation Center, $7 for residents and $9 for nonresidents.

Two Saturdays make the clearest examples. On October 24, Boo! Ridge starts at 2 p.m., an hour before Aria's closes, and ends at 4 p.m., the window when the Bridewell is the only one of the two restaurants still serving. On October 31, the Boo Bash at Walker Recreation Center ends at 11:30 a.m., well within Aria's breakfast and lunch hours. The Hocus Pocus night on the 21st is the one October event at the Village Center that runs fully after dark. It falls on a Wednesday, when Aria's has closed for the day and the Bridewell is serving dinner.

What's still pending this fall

Several things nearby haven't been settled yet.

At Aria's, evening hours and a liquor license are on record only as plans from June. Until the restaurant posts something different, the 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. schedule is the one to count on.

On foot, the Village's July 31 project update said new sidewalks on Lincolnshire and McClintock drives were complete and most of the Burr Ridge Parkway pathway was installed. A flashing beacon at the Parkway and Lincolnshire crossing was expected this fall. That update is two months old, so the beacon may be closer to finished than the Village page shows.

Just across the line in Willowbrook, Trader Joe's still plans a store at 735 Plainfield Road, east of Route 83. As of Patch's September 16 report, neither the village nor the company had announced a timeline, and a Trader Joe's spokesperson declined to confirm one.

Back on Village Center Drive, the October 3 opening at JRB Style is the next fixed date on the block. Aria's Kitchen's dinner service is the next change still to be confirmed.

Our team keeps up with Village Center Drive the same way we keep up with Hinsdale's First Street: storefront by storefront. Whether you're thinking about a home close to Burr Ridge's new dining spots or you just want to know what's coming, Ginny Stewart and Paige Stewart would be glad to talk it through. Schedule a Private Consultation, and we'll share what we're hearing about Burr Ridge this fall.
